Monique Paris
- Research Director
Monique is the Co-founder and Research Director of IBREAM. She is a wildlife biologist who has specialized in the area of wildlife reproduction. She holds a PhD from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She has an active role in the current 4 IBREAM programs.
Freya Van Kesteren
- PhD Student
Freya van Kesteren is IBREAM's first PhD student. She is registered at the University of Oxford, and now lives 9 months per year with the wolves in Ethiopia.
Inza Kone
Inza Kone holds a PhD in Primate Conservation Biology from the University of Cocody in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire and Post-doctoral fellowships in Bio-anthropology and Primate Ethology from the Universities of Madison-Wisconsin (USA) and Louis Pasteur (France).
Karim Ouatarra
Karim Ouattara holds a PhD in Ethology from the University of Cocody, Abidjan and has been involved in conservation efforts in Taï forest for over 5 years. He was awarded the WWF-CSRS prize in 2009 for contributions to conservation and is now charge of environmental education in our Taï Hyppo Project.

Mark van Heukelum
- Masters Student
Mark van Heukelum is a Masters student student working on our Pygmy Hippo conservation efforts in Tai National Park.
Henk Eshuis
- Masters Student
Henk Eshuis is a Masters Student working on our Pygmy Hippo conservation project.
Leanne Van der Weyde
- PhD Student
Leanne Van der Weyde is IBREAM's second PhD student. She is registered at the University of Western Australia and is studying African wild dogs all around the world, both in zoos and in the wild. She has a great passion for these animals.
Gedlu Tessera
- Field Assistant
Gedlu was the first assistant employed on our Ethiopian Wolf project and started working for us in Web Valley in 2007.
Muzeyen Turkee
- Field Assistant
Muzeyen started working with IBREAM in Web Valley in 2008 and moved to the Sanetti Plateau in 2009. HE worked previously as a tour guide and as a para-ecologist with the Frankfurt Zoological Society.
Tamam Mohammed
- Field Assistant
Tamam started working with IBREAM in Web Valley in 2008. He previously worked as the EWCP store guard.
Antennah Girma
- Field Assistant
Started working with IBREAM in Sanetti in 2009. Worked previously as a field assistant for Flavie Vial.
Annemieke van der Goot
- PhD Student
Registered at the University of Western Australia, IBREAM's PhD student Annemieke is working with female white rhinos in the wild and in zoos to investigate reproduction problems. She holds a Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Utrecht University in the Netherlands, and has been involved in several African wildlife conservation and animal health research programmes.

Wei Yeen Yap
- PhD student
BSc (hons), BVMS, PhD candidate (University of Western Australia) - Studying the ecology and population dynamics of wild pygmy hippopotamus populations in Tai National Park, Cote D'Ivoire.
Wei Yeen hopes her work with this endangered species will significantly contribute to the development of sound conservation management plans for the species and their unique environment.

Nick is a PhD molecular biologist who now specialises in web publication. Amongst his many endeavours, he is the founder and Editor-In-Chief at
